SIN-GOLD Whisky: Newcomer with ambitions

In the first phase, Filp mainly included personally selected distillates from Scotland in the SIN-GOLD range, which he had previously finished in his own barrels in Germany, but since last year the first bottlings of his own whiskies have been on the market.

The SIN-GOLD range currently comprises three whiskies produced in-house: a single malt whisky and a single grain whisky, both aged in bourbon casks, as well as a single grain whisky that was also allowed to mature in a port cask. All three distillates are now produced both in normal drinking strength with 40 % vol. as well as in a cask-strength version.

Hans-Jürgen Filp comments: “As a special element, we at SIN-GOLD have specialized in cask strength whisky right from the start. The reduction to drinking strength and filtering naturally change the taste of the whisky. A cask strength whisky is therefore somewhat more honest and certainly more aromatic in taste. You can decide for yourself whether to add a few drops of water to the whisky. This allows our customers to decide for themselves how and with what intensity they want to enjoy our whiskies.”

The innovative newcomer also wants to take a step forward when it comes to marketing its SIN-GOLD whiskies. Until now, the fine fabric could only be purchased online via the SIN-GOLD web store or from individual specialist retailers in the greater Augsburg area. Visitors to a number of renowned spirits fairs will soon be able to enjoy SIN-GOLD whiskies. “The enormously positive response we received from visitors as exhibitors at the ‘1st Augsburg Whisky Salon’ last fall has encouraged us to hit the ground running this year and significantly expand our presence at the trade fair,” promises Hans-Jürgen Filp. In February alone, the company plans to take part in three trade fairs with its own stand: “Whisky Spring” in Schwetzingen (13-14 February 2016), “Finest Spirits” in Munich (19-21 February 2016) and “The Village” in Nuremberg (27-28 February 2016). So if you would like to find out more about SIN-GOLD and its creators, you are very welcome to do so.
