Description
A whisky from the master hand of Hans-Jürgen Filp, matured in a bourbon cask and finished in a Mizunara cask.
The Mizunara oak, also known as water oak and emperor oak, comes from Japan. It is much rarer than European and American oak. But extremely much more expensive. The barrels made from it are used with reverence among whisky producers.
On the one hand, the barrels are permanently leaking, meaning that the Angels Share is much higher and regular monitoring is essential. On the other hand, it is loved because it has the lowest tannin concentration. This prevents overgrowth.
The result is unique aromas, which we present in this whisky.
